I believe they'll announce it at midnight. (no basis, just my belief) I agree. It wouldn't be seemly for him to die on April fools day. Wouldn't the Catholic haters just love that?

Why would it matter? Those who hate him or the RC church will continue on anyway. Seems to me that this pope would want only the truth to be the released....not some fiction to satisfy the whim of a calendar.

My mother told me that the nuns in her Catholic school (back in the 30's and early 40's) forbid them to ever play April fools jokes because it was an insult to Our Lord. It would be in imitation of those who blindfolded Our Lord, struck him and spit on him, asking him to tell who did it.
Now don't get me wrong, this is not nor ever was official Catholic teaching to my knowledge, but interesting no?
