Actually, anyone who is in Christ is a saint. Nobody waits to be declared a saint by God, only by the Catholic Church - and its label as such is meaningless. All believers are called "saint" in scripture by the One who creted and called us into new life in Jesus.

Almost. Its true that all in heaven are Saints. The declaration by the Church of Sainthood validates that a person is in heaven. There is no other way of being certain. Hardly meaningless to the faithful.
