"I'll never understand why Michael didn't hand over control of his ex-wife's affairs to Terri's parents...there's simply no way to justify that aspect of this MURDER!!"

I heard I think it was Scott Schiavo talking with Greta Van Sustern the other night and she was mentioning about the money and he said there was some life indurance but the settlement money was all but gone. If there was a big life insurance payout then that would explain why he held onto guardianship and did not divorce her. Any abuse that would have been found would have been beyond the statute of limitations. He was controlling of her before her "accident" and he never wanted to give up control. What I can't figure out is what kind of life insurance company would pay on someone who had died from forced starvation??

This has been a sad day for the Schindlers and for our country, we still have lots of reasons to pray.

Depends on the policy.
If it simply paid on death (rather than for instance an accidental death policy) it doesn't matter how she died.

I don't think money was the reasoning behind Michael's refusal to give up Terri to her parents, I think it was spite...I saw the transcript where Mikey said he wouldn't give up Terri becuz her parents had been a pain in his butt...MUD
