"What new law was created by this judge? I'm curious, because I've seen no indication of that."
WEll now that is what we will find out now isn't it, there are many things established by this case that will indeed determine what laws are now in effect.
Definition of what a husband is seems to have taken a new meaning.
Actually, I think the definition of husband is still based on the Bible. When a woman marris a man she joins his family...
But anyway, I think the bigger fear is that we will end up with totally new laws, completely unnecessary but rushed and not well thought out, because of what happened... when the easiest, simplest solution is to:
A. Get rid of any laws, such as in Florida, that allows a spouse to simply say :They wouldn't want to live like that" - it shoul dbe a legal document, not just someone's say so... and
B. Get rid of the laws that state that Food and Hydration are "Life Support"...
Those two steps would go a looooong way toward keeping this from occurring again. But, what will happen is that congress will somehow get involved and make a bad situation even worse...
That thow-away comments -- not "substantial evidence," as the written law now requires -- is all that's needed to declare that someone wanted to be dehydrated.
