FL, all states, and the U.S. government do not recognize the Vatican's authority, but we send an ambassador there, don't we? It's all window dressing to keep Catholics "happy."
I'm not Catholic so I don't know much about their protocol or the power of it's reach in our country, it was just a hopeful wish.
I hope her soul and her family can find peace and comfort in our Lord.
