But Ithink diet is very personal each one of us need to eat what works for us considering indvidual needs. Without a doubt.
I know I use to stock up on the pasta, Coke, Tums, and Excedrin on my weekly shopping trips. After starting Atkins in '98 I don't buy (or need to buy) any of them anymore.
Just my experience. YMMV

I don't take anything for tummy anymore either veggies, fish and New York steaks. Two Years.
Been soda free and more water for over six months now.
However I do eat what I want once a week at the local Steak house including soda with my meal.
No processed food is the biggie and if I do buy pre made tomato paste or such I don't buy anything with the word SPices in the ing. list.
Rare occasions I use Mylanta associated with my fall/winter urge for spaghetti.
And I have to eat at normal intervals no more of this 12hr no food stuff.
