How about because her doctors (experts) didn't think it was a worthwhile endeavor and because it didn't even have a 1% chance of working. The judge is not in the position to just let people experiment on a person if they aren't doctors. This is one of the most inconsistent, absurd and riscible statements I have ever seen made on this board. Congratulation on reaching a new low.
Feeding as experimentation! That's rich!

You say a lot without saying much. Maybe you could point out the inconsistencies? Why not just let somebody kick her in the face. After all, it may have waken her out of her PVS. I mean, it could work after all, anything is possible.

Feeding as experimentation! That's rich! If the mothers who came before Solomom were to come before Judge Greer, he'd chop the baby in half even if both mothers objected.
In this case, one side is claiming Terri can't take food by mouth, and the other is claiming that she might be able to. It would be illegal to starve her if she could take food by mouth. It would seem that letting someone who wants her to live attempt to feed her by mouth would be a clear and obvious way to solve the factual debate. It shouldn't take the wisdom of Solomon to figure it out.
