The kooks aren't exactly in tune with science to begin with.

CNN has some video of Thailand - I think it is a after quake video of people evacuating.

Unfortunately the site you posted that from are purveyors of kook science. The above claim is utterly unsubstantiated..typical of kook science. They need to rigorously and statistically show that many more disasters happen around the Full Moon.

No doubt you're right. One thing I will say, however, is that as a graveyard waitress for several years running, many moons (!) ago, I can tell you that asbolutely, full moon nights coincided an overwhelming percentage of the time with craziest behavior in the customers (generally an odd bunch to begin with!).

I'm always impressed by the depth of expertise and contacts people here have. I used to live in the Philippines, so I know some folks from southeast asia. Lots of ex-military guys who spent time in Korea or Okinawa end up in the area for the while. Really friendly locals.

But as far as this quake goes, it sounds like the Sumatra coast might get nailed, probably further south than the Dec. quake. This is a remote area, so the damage won't be apparent for a while.

It's actually fairly densely populated, but an obscure area. No foreign media there (since it wasn't really damaged in December).

Local news (Thailand) is showing footage of the Navy moving local boats away from the coast as a precaution.

This quake was predicted on Coast to Coast! The Fr. said another wave would hit those who hurt the children.

I will try to dig up the post.

Even if there was a Central Sumatran tsunami I really doubt there would be any at all in Thailand.
