Well, in his own mind (and those his advisors), they said "screw the legal limits" and they got arms to the Contra-revolutionarios in Honduras to take on Communism/Sandinism in Nicaragua, and took the heat, some even going to jail, for the larger good (which in retrospect turned out to be a moral good, i.e. it contributed to the worldwide defeat of Communism in the 1990s).

Well, as someone who was glad that we did what we did in supporting the Contras, I still don't think Reagan wanted to believe he'd actually broken any laws. Here, he wouldda had to supercede the Constitution, imho, to save Terri's life.

I'm not so sure that'd been Reagan's style...if anything, maybe the Gipper wouldda brought this issue to the fore long before Terri was at death's door. It's a shame all this public outcry only started after the feeding tube was removed.
