It is a shame about the autopsy. What Terri needed and what Greer denied over and over and over again was a Functional MRI and a PET scan. These are done to see what is happening inside an "alive" brain. I will never accept an autopsy that shows she was PVS. I don't think an autopsy would have much value to prove PVS. It is her "live" brain that should be tested.
Actually I believe even if she IS PVS she still deserves to live. Food and water are not extraordinary medicine, but ordinary care and should be provided to everyone unless there is a living will stating their wishes otherwis. To me PVS is a non starter as a reason someone is deemed not worthy of living. When we do that we are evalution people's right to life based on their quality of life, and that is Euthanasia.
