IMHO, it started with abortion. Life became cheap and expendable at that moment.

No, it started before that with the idea of "planned parenthood." Before then, babies 'just happened. Parents simply accepted the children that came into their lives. Contraception was used but known to have lots of failure.

By the '60's, when contraception became more reliable (and baby-boomers became rebellious teenagers), people were told that they didn't just HAVE to accept babies into their families. They could PLAN those that they wanted and prevent those they didn't want. Parenthood became something to be chosen or not chosen, NOT just something a couple had to expect. For better or worse, richer or poorer was a vow adult couples made to each other, NOT to their children.

Abortion came later, after "planning parenthood" was fully ingrained into our culture, especially into our churches. Did you know that most churches opposed contraception until the last half of the 20th century?

Unconditional love was replaced with "every child a wanted child." Well, now that applies to people in general. "Every person a wanted person" or 'terminate' them.

I heard someone being interviewed on the radio today, and did not get his name, but he actually said: "This is all about Terri's right to choice".

These issues are all getting wrapped up into one nice little package.
