Parents keep watch over dying Schiavo (MICHAEL DENIES TERRI FINAL COMMUNION)
Nevada Appeal / Associated Press ^ | March 27, 2005 | Mitch Stacy

Posted on 03/26/2005 10:56:04 PM PST by Deo volente

(Attorney)Weller said Terri cried when her mother hugged her Saturday night. "She knows what's going on. She was trying to vocalize something with Mary."

"The governor should know that Terri still knows who her mother is, and she's extremely distressed," Weller said. "She's not a vegetable who doesn't know what is happening."

Paul O'Donnell, a Roman Catholic Franciscan monk, said the family unsuccessfully urged Michael Schiavo to allow his wife the sacrament of communion during the holiest feast of the Catholic year. She received last rites the day the feeding tube was pulled.

"This is in violation of her religious rights and freedoms and allows the governor to ... intervene," O'Donnell said, repeating the family's request that the governor take Schiavo into protective custody. "We beg you to have courage and take action."

even if that means subverting the "structure" of our current political system.

That's what puts you on the fringe, right there. You want to "subvert" the system. I want to work for change within the system...

It's time for a change.

It's time for some bad laws to be repealed. Done constitutionally, the way our Founders intended.

You want a different system altogether. That's where we differ.

Bottom line? They hate God...

Oh geez. Give it a rest will ya?

It's true.

all who hate me love death.

It's not true about those whom he was speaking of.

"I am a die-hard conservative FIRST, then a Republican second. Our leaders are not conservative. They may be GOP, but what the hell's in a name? Our votes are taken for granted, people."

Sir I am a Christian FIRST, that is my reality. We are told to pray for the WILL of the Heavenly Father, and "IF" the Heavenly Father wanted things to turn out differently they would have.

The Heavenly Father loves all His children, all souls belong to Him. Maybe He is trying to tell you something.

It's not true about those whom he was speaking of.

From a Biblical point of view it is true for everyone complaisant in the death of Terri Schiavo.

This **last straw** is exactly what 'everyone else'(aclu, pols, etc) has fought for, for YEARS.

It is NO BIG DEAL that Terri was REFUSED her last Communion, and there is NOT a judge, pol, lawyer, who will STAND UP for that final right of hers.

ANYONE, in the 'legal' arena, who fights for this scrap of last RIGHTS for Terri, will be ridiculed/castigated because they VIOLATED that almighty notion of 'separation of church and state'.

"I can't believe she's still conscious after 8 days"

That fact tells us her wishes. I keep thinking about someone who is found in the mountains after being lost for days, or found in the rubble , it would be called a miracle.

I just have this to say:

Saving Terri is the RIGHT thing to do. It's not the legal thing to do, but it's the right thing.

Letting an innocent woman be starved to death is not right period.

What does this mean?

Are you comdemning her for not going to mass? Are you condemning her for using birth control?

Jeb Bush can stop this if he had guts.
He is a COWARD.
Why wont he send the troopers in to save Terri.
This is a disgrace that he's letting an innocent woman be murdered.
I'd vote For OJ if he ran against Jeb in the next election.
Thats how mad I am at him.

There's something you must understand about the ACLU, and all of the other so-called "civil rights" organizations on the left: They have never cared about the civil rights of individual Americans other than when it advances their true agenda, which is nothing less than the destruction of the United States. Make no mistake about it, the people who make up the ACLU, and their big money supporters, are the mortal enemies of this nation every bit as much as Osama Bin Laden. Eating us from within like a cancer, the left (along with its Republican apologists) actually present a far greater danger to the survival of the nation than OBL does.

This is a dark day for this country, and it symbolizes and encapsulates so much of what is wrong here. An innocent woman is being starved and dehydrated to death on the orders of her adulterous husband - appointed guardian by a corrupt court, and no one in authority has the courage to defy or overturn the ruling of a judge who took money from the husband's legal team and openly defied a subpoena from the Congress of the United States. To top it off and rub salt in the wounds he's inflicted, he denies her communion on Easter, the holiest day in the Christian calendar. It's astounding - and horrifying.

I wonder how many families are going to rethink not only how they treat their incapacitated loved ones but whether they use hospice care. I had a 34 year old niece that died under the care of a hospice and her death was a hideous end that traumatized the whole family who had to watch it.

I would award a stupidity medal to anyone who ever sends their loved one to THIS hospice especially. They have already shown the extent to which they are willing to go to support their pro-death worldview.

That's a very good point. Michael Schiavo's lawyer was on the board of directors of the hospice in question, which implies that he may very well be profiting off it in some way. To top it off, he's a member of the Hemlock Society. The whole thing stinks.
