(Attorney)Weller said Terri cried when her mother hugged her Saturday night. "She knows what's going on. She was trying to vocalize something with Mary."
"The governor should know that Terri still knows who her mother is, and she's extremely distressed," Weller said. "She's not a vegetable who doesn't know what is happening."
Paul O'Donnell, a Roman Catholic Franciscan monk, said the family unsuccessfully urged Michael Schiavo to allow his wife the sacrament of communion during the holiest feast of the Catholic year. She received last rites the day the feeding tube was pulled.
"This is in violation of her religious rights and freedoms and allows the governor to ... intervene," O'Donnell said, repeating the family's request that the governor take Schiavo into protective custody. "We beg you to have courage and take action."

If you get the list started put me on it.
fatima...
I'M the one who is sorry...
I did not mean to ping you to my post...
You have done nothing wrong dear friend...
I apologise..
Ms.B
Rolling eyes in concert!!!!!!!!!!
I know 3 of us already and there are a *lot* of Italians posting on FR.
The Celtic ping list got more interest than I ever thought it would.
Can't hurt to give it a shot...:)
Hubby's surname is techinically Italian but it's a "place name" surname and the place name was an iron-age Celtic settlement in north-eastern Italy.
Later they moved on down to Sicily and that's where they came to America from.
His mom's side was Portuguese.
Depending on the age of a name, it can get *really* confusing.
My surname is the Romanized version of an ancient pan/proto Celtic deity.
B,Terri waits to see God.She knows now she is going to die. We are with her in prayer in this knowledge..
We are all exhausted and heartbroken..
tempers and emotions are running high...
Thank you, for taking a breath and stepping back..
You are a good person...
Happy Easter and God Bless...
Ms.B
I know it's galling, but those who torture Terri need our prayers most.
I sure will....:)
Thanks, and you toooo!
NO ONE is enjoying or taking any pleasure out of this among genuine FReepers. I, for one, certainly wish things in this sad, tragic case could've turned out differently. But your unhinged rants are simply beyond the pale, and do damage to the cause you profess to champion.
For shame.
Pinging MacDorcha.
Need help starting Italian ping list.....:)
[the call goes out...we await his reply]....;D
I totally agree with you. So Chad, Justmythoughts, and whoever the hell else, call me a radical. Why don't you borrow a line from DU and call me a "fundie" also? Geez.
Wake up people. This is OUR country. This is the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
Starvation and dehydration of innocent disabled people is NOT what we do.
This is a travesty, and our "leaders" have thrown up their hands and said in effect "I've done all I can do, too bad so sad". That's not my America.
Jeb & George have given up. Their lack of courage makes my blood boil, and it ought to do the same to anyone who believes in Truth, Justice, and The American Way.
Tonight, Jerry Doyle was on fire as he berated the President, Gov. Bush, the G.O.P., and the now useless 2-party system.
I COMPLETELY agree with Jerry Doyle, and I urge any of you that are fans of his show to try to find tonight's show on replay or archive. He speaks truth.
Jerry's opinion (and mine) is that George and Jeb both saw the ABC polls and with the advice of their political advisors decided to give up. Jerry then called all of them SCUM for letting this happen in America. He also said that anyone in power who showed no action and simply just let this poor helpless lady die is scum as well. I agree.
I am a die-hard conservative FIRST, then a Republican second. Our leaders are not conservative. They may be GOP, but what the hell's in a name? Our votes are taken for granted, people.
Sorry, I won't drink the Kool-Aid, folks. If Terri dies, I will no longer SUPPORT the Republican Party like I did in 2004. I may vote for a Republican as the lesser of two evils, but I will never support.
Buncha cowards. Where's the spirit of American courage? Where's the spirit of Martin Luther King? Where's the spirit of Eisenhower? It's gone....and gone with it is the life of a woman killed by 2 things....
1. A corrupt judicial system
2. Republican inactivity
God, how I miss President Reagan.
Someday fatima...
I hope to attain your state of grace..
There is beauty in everything you do...
Thank you, God Bless you...
and have a Blessed and Joyful Easter...
Ms.B
He is a prime target for extermination in the new order.
Yup.
I know this sounds sick, but I'm watching "Schindler's List" right now, and honestly, I don't see the difference between the evacuation of the ghettos and Terry. The difference is that in "Schindler's List" the incapacitated are given poison before the Nazis get to them, therefore dying in peace, something "Mrs." Schiavo is not going to know.
I suppose you would prefer calming mood music on the night of Terri's starvation?
I dont know but thats an awsome ideal. I heard that Greer has already been asked to leave his church because of his ruling.
Wow. Someone who's been here for only a few short days disagrees with me, and wants to bash the president of the United States and cast blame on him for something he has nothing to do with, because he heard some hollywood guy turned radio star say it was so... What a shocker.
