..., I'm sorry they didn't even try. What was the name of that movie, "Eyes Wide Shut"? How about a special Sunday session of Congress and flying back to Washington to sign the bill for George and the hundreds of things that Jeb did both openly and behind the scenes over several years.
If you want to go cry somewhere I will leave you alone. Otherwise, stop saying stupid things.

There are two issues on FR that some people think only with their emotions and not their brains and this is one of them. Some just can't see that the President isn't above the law and can only operate under it. President Bush, unlike his predecessor, doesn't operate like he is a dictator and can do what he pleases by executive order whether it is legal or not.

Thank you for your kind and understanding response. Obviously my sincere concerns should not be expressed on a hero-worship thread.

I am beginning to agree with you.
A bill was signed?
Hell should have been raised. Judge Greer gave a big middle finger to Congress, the President, the governor, and all decent rational people.

"Poor soldier. For all that he has defended, someday he may starve upon another's order. And the Cowboy will say "that's a difficult issue" and do nothing."
All the Bush family gave us was a dog and pony show. Ask any soldier......you don't "TRY" to win, you win.....you don't try to protect the country....you DO it. You don't make a limp-wristed media attempt; you SAVE the woman. Oh, the polls show we should back off!!!! Ah yes, the polls....
We saw lots of polls today, did we not? Right here on Free Republic.
Mark Twain once made a bad real estate deal, and it made the papers. A Newspaperman ran up to Twain and said "you should lie low for awhile..what is the public going to think?" Twain turned to the reporter and said " My good man, the public is a jackass" The pulbic IS often a jackass, and America has not distinguished itself this month.

The current Free Republic poll had this response as an option:
I would have lost a great deal of respect if he did defy the judge. Judicial decisions should not be defied by the Executive Branch. To do so would violate the "separation of powers" and risk a Constitutional crisis. (my emphasis) -- This was about 16%.
That's terrifying! Should Dred Scott be the law of the land? End Judicial Tyranny!

It is the Soldier, not the politicians in DC who guarantees our right to vote. It is the Soldier, not the politicians in DC who guards our freedom. It is the Soldier, not the politicians in DC who got Iraq and Afghanistan people the right to vote. It is the Soldier, not the judges who protect the US Constitution Except in very extreme situations, which AFAIK have never occured, the Soldier couldn't have done any of this with CinC to give the order. We are blessed with a Cowboy in the White House who knows when and how to give those orders.

Frozen and paralyzed with the sheer SHOCK of our helplessness in the face of this monstrous act! We are dumbfounded that the pure weight of the FACTS about the probable original cause of Terri's injuries plus Michael's frenzy to have her g.d. DIE...........that none of the above are being given the slightest consideration by judge after judge in this case.
They are only interested in the cold, meaningless "procedure." They aren't interested in how this is the final episode of a murder-gone-bad 15 years ago. And that's the truth of what is happening. One man's guilt (Michael Schaivo). One man's ego (George Greer). One man's ideology (Hemlock Felos).

My feelings exactly. The man is by no means perfect. But he is light years beyond the previous criminal to have occupied the office.

and Mr. Bush, you're no John Wayne. John Wayne was an actor, and a great American, but George Bush has to work in the real world, not the reel world. Whole different thing. I'd say the case is a lot stronger that Jeb Bush could/should have done sometime more forceful than that George could have.
