Oh, yea, this is a real political winner for Jeb.

He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't - that's a winner.

If he doesn't move in now, everyone screams he could have saved her, so he's responsible for her death.

If he does move in, he breaks the law and everyone else screams he's interferring in a personal matter as, after all, isn't this just a case of a loving husband trying to relieve the suffering of his dear sweet beloved wife?

Remember, 60-70% of the population sees nothing wrong in the court order execution of a disabled woman by starvation - that alone should tell you where the real problem lies in this country, as our government is just a reflection of us.

And, even if he does go in and get her, how many days before it's all back in the courts again - four?

And how many days after that before they're blaming him for not doing enough and having "no testicles" again - one? An hour? Five minutes?

The solution is not to ruin Jeb Bush, but many are hell bent on doing just that. No wonder people think we're so stupid.

I think if the poll were taken after people saw pictures of how Terri is now, the results would be different. Don't you? Nevertheless, it is true that there are too many meatheads who are more concerned with the latest game from Sony than a poor woman being cruelly terminated by the state.

You are correct if he took her he would have to forgo his career. He would have to take a position and stand up for it. But in the end Terri would die - because that is what the powers that be want. But where is the DOJ - why are they not investigating this?

I think we're hearing the usual wing nuts on this subject. Others, I think, are trying to process this in awkward ways. I'm trying to give everyone a break here.

It's not always about winning. Sometimes it's about minimizing the loss. As you stated, dammed if he does, dammed if he doesn't. The only way he escapes with minimal loss from both factions of his "base" (constitutionalists and religious right) is to put himself into a position where neither side can lay total blame on him. Telegraphing his move HOURS ahead of time was foolish, if in fact his intentions were to save her. However what it did accomplish is a situation where Jeb sends the agents in and quickly pulls them off. The Constitutionalists are happy because Jeb avoids a "shootout" (yeah right) and thinks the better of throwing the state into a civil war (yeah right again). Many middle of the road republicans will give Jeb an "atta boy, you did what you could" as we are already starting to see. As for his political career I really think it's moot. I never saw Jeb as a real contender for the presidency, and one thing is for sure now... he will NEVER have the support that his brother had from the religious right in 2004. Without that support it will be hard for any Republican to get in with the fanaticism, fraud, and cash that will be pouring in from the left in the coming years, but damn near impossible if your last name is Bush.
