I think that we're on the same page in a lot of ways.

The child was showing a great deal of disrepect to adults. I have noticed this as a major problem these days. For example, being at a stoplight with a teenager crossing at the crosswalk. The light turns green and the teenager still stumbles along in their baggy blue jeans, all the while staring at the drivers as if saying "Just try to run me down a**holes". I get an itchy clutch pedal when that happens.

However, read the full article regarding this incident and you will see where the school now has the child going through COUNSELING on how to show better respect to elders. This is NONE of the schools business! These schools need to start teaching children math and science instead of socialism.

I actually looked at applying for a job as a math and/or science teacher in my state. I have over 20 years professional experience in the engineering discipline. I was told that they didn't want me until I went back to school and took CHILD PSYCHOLOGY classes! What a bunch of nitwits!

I scored 780 on the math SAT, and I never took any SAT prep classes or read any SAT books.

I have a B.S. in math. I considered doing a double major with education, but I, too, did not like all of those ridiculous psychobabble classes.

During my youth, I was a student at a Montessori school that refused to hire teachers who had degrees in "education."
