Connect the dots:

When Helene Ball McGee if Dunedin, Fla., turned to Greer for protection against her abusive husband, Bobby Lane McGee in March, 1998, Greer rebuked her plea for help, saying that he wasn’t “convinced that her life was in imminent danger”

In asking for the court order, she told Greer that her husband forced himself on her sexually, burned her belongings and said she was possessed by the devil. Greer ruled that she didn’t have “enough proof” that her husband was violent because she said he had not been physically violent----yet.

Two weeks later, Helene McGee was dead, stabbed to death. Her husband had left a message telling her he was leaving town, leading her to believe that it would be safe to return to their home because he wouldn’t be there. Upon entering her home, he stabbed her to death.

Deputies found her husband hiding, submerged in a drainage ditch behind their house, wearing camouflage and a black mask. He was charged with first degree murder.

Helene McGee was a nurse at the Pinellas County Jail operated by Everett Rice, Pinellas County Sheriff, one of Greer’s best friends. Her co-workers say she was scared to death of her husband.

As sheriff of Pinellas County, Everett Rice gave Michael Schiavo a job.

As a state legislator, Rice opposed a bill that would have blocked the removal of Terri Schiavo's feeding tube.

To Rice, the two acts are unrelated. Rice said he and Judge Greer are friends, and he acknowledged making a TV ad and was on the hospice board several years ago, as an honorary member because he was sheriff.

The Empire Journal has confirmed that the mother of Jodi Centonze, Schiavo’s live-in girlfriend and fiancé with whom he has two children was employed in the civil division of the sheriff’s department from June 18, 1979 until June 25, 1999, some 11 years while Rice was sheriff and at the same time her "son-in-law" had petitioned Rice’s good friend Judge Greer to end her "daughter-in-law’s" life.

Rice’s employment of Michael Schiavo came just weeks after Rice had allegedly unlawfully lent the prestige of his office and the resources of the sheriff’s office in endorsement of the reelection of Greer in a televised political advertisement.

Although prohibited by Florida Statutes, Rice and other Pinellas county public officers including state attorney Bernie McCabe and public defender Bob Dillinger, allowed employees of their offices to appear in a campaign commercial for Greer which inferred that Greer was “tough on crime” although Greer is a administrative probate judge.

Rice was one of eight Republicans in the state House who voted against a bill that would have prevented the withholding of food and water to incapacitated patients who did not make their intentions clear beforehand.

When a top ranking agent of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) opened a criminal investigation in the case of Terri Schindler-Schiavo, he was called into his supervisor’s office and told to shut down the investigation not once, but twice.

The Empire Journal has learned from reliable, knowledgeable sources who spoke on condition of anonymity that this FDLE agent and another agent have given notice that if they are served with subpoenas ordering them to give the information known to them regarding alleged corruption and collusion in the case that they will tell a court about the order stifling their investigation and the alleged involvement of the alleged obstruction of justice by Bernie McCabe, state attorney for Pinellas and Pasco County.

The FDLE agent determined that there was probable cause to initiate an investigation in the area of fraud after he had conducted a preliminary investigation. He said that while the initial investigation would not have been enough to obtain an indictment of anyone at that stage, that in the past, the FDLE has opened a full-fledged criminal investigation with far less information than he had developed in the Schiavo case.

Upon opening an investigatory file, he was reportedly called into his supervisor’s office and told to shut down the investigation, not once but twice. He says that never in his many years of law enforcement had he ever been ordered to shut down an investigation and the file was closed and turned in.

According to the agent, it appeared McCabe allegedly ordered that all criminal investigations in regard to the Schiavo matter, including those of the FDLE, be shut down.

The agents allegedly maintain that if they are served with a subpoena to produce their information in court, they are willing and prepared to do so. They fully expected to be called but have not been.

In March, 2000, Michael Schiavo and his attorney, George Felos, secretively relocated Terri Schindler-Schiavo from the Palm Gardens Nursing Home to the hospice without court order and without notifying her parents.

George Felos also conveniently forgot to give notice to the court and her parents, Mary and Robert Schindler Sr. that he was chairman of the board of directors at the Hospice at the time and had been since at least Jan. 31, 1997 and perhaps earlier. By August, 1997, Felos had become the lead attorney in Michael Schiavo’s quest to end his wife’s life by the removal of her assisted feeding. According to the annual reports of the hospice filed with the Florida Secretary of State, Felos remained as chairman of the hospice board until April 26, 2001, a year after he and Michael Schiavo had her admitted to the hospice and certainly more than six months. Only after public charges of conflict of interest did Felos resign as chairman in 2001.

Records obtained from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the federal agency has initiated collection procedures against the Hospice of Florida Suncoast to recover some $14.8 million which they say was unlawfully paid to the hospice as a result of fraudulent claims made for Medicare reimbursement for patients that were not terminally ill and therefore not eligible for hospice care. According to the 2004 annual report of HHS filed Dec.31, 2004, the agency has initiated collection procedures against the hospice.

The federal agency has been trying to recover the Medicare overpayments made to the hospice since May, 1997 at the time when Felos was chairman of the board.

The Florida Baptist Witness editorial relates Felos' description of the "conversation" with Browning from Felos' book Litigation as Spiritual Practice:

Felos clearly believes in reincarnation and even discusses a conversation with his yet-to-be-conceived, unborn son, who told Felos, “I’m ready to be born…will you stop this fooling around!” (75). He cites this experiences as proof of the validity of perhaps the most bizarre claim in the book concerning what he calls a “soul-speak” conversation he claims to have had with Browning – the patient in the “right-to-die” case. While she never uttered an audible sound, Felos writes that he was able to communicate with the radically debilitated stroke victim who could not talk.

"Mrs Browning, do you want to die? Do you want to die? - I nearly shouted as I continued to peer into her pools of strikingly beautiful but incognizant blue. It felt so eerie." (pg 63)

"Whatever your opinion about tube feeding, the hard fact was it now stood between Mrs. Browning and her death." (pg 64)

“As I continued to stay beside Mrs. Browning at her nursing home bed, I felt my mind relax and my weight sink into the ground. I began to feel light-headed as I became more reposed. Although feeling like I could drift into sleep, I also experienced a sense of heightened awareness.

“As Mrs. Browning lay motionless before my gaze, I suddenly heard a loud, deep moan and scream and wondered if the nursing home personnel heard it and would respond to the unfortunate resident. In the next moment, as this cry of pain and torment continued, I realized it was Mrs. Browning.

“I felt the mid-section of my body open and noticed a strange quality to the light in the room. I sensed her soul in agony. As she screamed I heard her say, in confusion, ‘Why am I still here … Why am I here?’ My soul touched hers and in some way I communicated that she was still locked in her body. I promised I would do everything in my power to gain the release her soul cried for. With that the screaming immediately stopped. I felt like I was back in my head again, the room resumed its normal appearance, and Mrs. Browning, as she had throughout this experience, lay silent” (73).

"I carried with me the resolute determination to sever the artificial cord that bound Estelle Browning to this earthly realm. Her agonized cry for release ran though my mind over and over again, and I felt our SPIRITUAL BOND." (pg 76)

We note that attorney George Felos is certainly not "unassociated" with the hospice and its board of directors. But did you know that Judge Greer, the judge in this case, was a Pinellas County commissioner for the county back in 1984 through 1992. Guess who also was a county commisioner from 1984 onwards? Hospice Board member Barbara Sheen Todd was elected Pinellas County commisioner back in 1980 and has served in public office since that time, being re-elected several times. It is certain that for the eight years Judge Greer was a county commissioner, he certainly knew hospice board of directors member Barbara Sheen Todd quite well.

What Felos thought was Mrs. Browning's voice was demons telling him to kill an innocent human being.

Is he on drugs or is mentally ill? Either one could eventually lead to life on a feeding tube.

WE can't post anything from The Empire Journal except title, url, and at most first paragraph.
Would you clean up the post and then hit abuse on yourself to have the post with article text removed please?
