I'm directing this question to you since you seem to know a lot about this subject of "end-of-life" choices. Do you know a website that keeps an eye on the law in different states or shows how far the "right to die" has progressed? There is little more I can do to help Terri, but I would like to be able to ensure this cannot happen in my state.
Thank you for your help.
I have been posting on a million and one places...This has gotten so out of hand! The whole right to die issue applies only to those at end of life or terminally ill. Felos as usurped the argument and the sheep have followed. Here is what I've been sending gov and pres Bush as well as news agencies and other blogs....
You (Florida) have laws specifically outlawing Euthenasia. You cannot stop a court ordered Euthenasia? It is now legal in Florida to kill someone because they are miserable or we perceive them as miserable?
From the Oregon Physician Assisted Suicide FAQ page:
Q: What is Oregon's Death with Dignity Act?
A: The Death with Dignity Act permits physicians to write prescriptions for a lethal dosage of medication to people with a terminal illness. This procedure is also known as physician-assisted suicide.
Terri Schiavo was never dying. She had no terminal illness. She only needed food and water. Florida has now made it possible to kill someone because they are miserable or because we perceive them as miserable.
Florida has its own laws against euthanasia. The laws in Terris case have been misapplied. There is much precedent when and executive has stepped in to right a wrong. Please dont wait until she is dead.
Terri's death now makes it legal to kill by starvation and dehydration, a universally recognized cruelty, anyone we perceive as miserable or who perceives themselves as miserable.
