There's an awful lot about this that I just don't understand.

For one thing, how is it possible that the police of the state of Florida are under the control of a judge, and not the Governor?

The police are there to serve the people. In Florida, the people need to make it known.

Has anyone met with the police chief yet or are they concentrating on the judges alone?

The Governor doesn't have control, that's why.. he has allowed his state to be removed from him...
