Our Father,
We commit your servant Terri into your warm and loving hands. Our hearts are saddened because so many people have fought this tyranny on behalf of Terri to no avail. Help us to not rail against those "who could have done more". We know that you could have overruled this process at any time, but you have chosen not to do so. And so..we must conclude that you have some greater purpose in this for so many of us who have watched this event with grieving hearts. Help us Father to take away from this what you want us to learn---already we have learned so much about the cruelty and depravity of man and the need for your saving grace. Now help us to see how Terri's life (and dying) have also brought glory and honor to you. What impact Terri has had on so many who have discussed the ramifications of death, dying, and eternity! Let us rejoice in this knowledge--that someone others say has "no purpose to continue in this life" has indeed served a glorious higher purpose. Oh yes, Terri is "much more than a vegetable"! What a great God you are to confound the wisdom of "this world" by making this so beautifully seen! Help us to focus this Easter on your power to resurrect the dead and to look forward to that time when we can see Terri in a perfect body with no more pain. Comfort her biological family as well as her spiritual family and help us to remember the words of the psalmist who said to believers that "weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
In Jesus name, I pray...
