dear, dear Pegita, you are one of our most treasured posters. I want to say up front the I love you DEARLY. I type this almost blinded with tears.
Does not the constitution of the United States give our president the authority to issue a executive order to save Terri? This is the question! President Bush and other Constitutionalists disagree on this point. I think this is where we are all dividing. Most of the Christian leaders, James Kennedy, Jim Dobson, Pat Robertson, Catholic Dioceses are saying YES, you do have the constitutional authority to do so. Time will tell who was right anyways.
regardless, I love you , sister.
One small thing this situation has taught me:
Judgeship elections on the local and state levels count.
I will always do my best to learn about people running for judges, who is backing them and why from this day on. Too many times I've just picked one, not knowing anything.
Those days are over for me.
Lord, open our eyes to what you want us to see,
and show us the road we should take.
Amen.
This is the problem, though, pollywog ... since it has become evident that the judiciary is ultimately in control of this country, even if the governor and the president act constitutionally (as they already did, I might add), it will ultimately go back to the judiciary who has proved that they are using this case to show who's in power.
By using this case as leverage to take corrective action to the whole system, President Bush can do more good by not acting specifically in this case (and likely getting impeached), but by using it as a step in correcting this horrible imbalance of power so that these sorts of things don't continue to happen.
