A long time ago, a Serpent told a lie. He said that man can be equal to or more powerful than God. He's never stopped telling that lie.

Heavenly Father, we return to thank You that You stand watch ... whether in the darkest hours or in the brightest sunlight, You stand watch. Blessed be Your Name forever, O Lord, for our God neither slumbers nor sleeps. Confident we remain, Merciful Father, that You will meet every need of this mother's child, even in the depths of her agony. We cannot know her pain or torture, made more unbearable because she is innocent, but we know that You are with her as she walks through the valley of the shadow of death. Her enemies abound, but You have prepared for her a banquet table in their midst. Let them look upon what they have done ... let them know that in the midst of this moment of man's curse upon her, You give her blessing. May Your Name be praised forevermore.

Let the Angels of Mercy gather round her deathbed, ministering to her with spiritual food and drink that sustains her ... let her neither hunger nor thirst for sustenance long denied, but refresh her body and soul with the banquet delights prepared for her. Although around her rages the fiercest of battles, may her spirit be calm, for the Lord of Hosts has his hand upon this wounded woman.

We cannot fathom the agony of her family ... the mother and father who tended her from birth ... a sister and brother who rejoiced through the years ... those who love her most separated from her by the one who hates them most. In these most desperate of hours, O Lord, overpower them with the Comfort of Your Presence, for the thought of this beloved child being lost from their sight forever is unbearable. At the whim of one who promised to love and protect her, she will be no more. May the prayers of a nation's mothers and fathers surround them this night, that they might be sustained. May the prayers of brothers and sisters hold them close, for the family of man is grieved.

We are reduced to nothingness before You, O God, for we have utterly failed in protecting those who need our protection most. Even in our failure, we pray that You would extend Your mercy over us and change the hearts of those who have sought her death. Pierce the hearts of the Merchants of Death, for You are not willing that any should perish. Snatch from their vicious grasp the prize they have long sought. We contend over this precious lamb, O God, and we weep that we are so close to defeat. We long have prayed for that one Judge who will render justice long denied ... the hour grows late for his appearing; nevertheless, we continue to pray for one who will rule wisely and well. Take note, Righteous Judge, of those whose hands are bright red with the blood of this innocent ... let them not escape, but may they be hounded with the same fierceness that Terri has been hounded these many years. Cause us to cleanse the courts with the same righteous anger that You cleansed the temple. Help us to scatter the silver and gold that has bought the life of this mother's child.

We are empty and alone, O God, and our beloved Terri lies at the doorway of Eternity. Would that we could have her back ... would that her mother could cradle her once more. Into Your hands we commend this innocent lamb ... this mother's child, our beloved friend. Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow her all the days of her life, and she will dwell in the House of the Lord, forever. Amen ...
