Into your hands, O Lord,
we commend the soul of our sister Terri
who is being called home to you,
a victim of the culture of death,
a martyr to man's willingness to find reasons
to deny the truth of your word,
the preciousness of your gift of life,
as in our hubris
too many of us have decided
we are in charge.
O Lord, forgive us our sin,
with her passing,
soften the hearts of those who stand in judgment
over the handicapped,
who do not heed your word to care for the least of these,
and in the end,
let all of us who love you
walk in your light,
live in your way,
be living examples of your truth
and return home at last to be with you,
