I wonder about that too. They are supposed to be a protection agency. If someone wanted to commit suicide, now it seems, DCF would be abusive in protecting them from themselves.

FV, We could call talk radio shows today and tell them about the ghouls going in to see Terri. They wouldn't let Terri's family take photos or videos of Terri, but those ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED IN HER ROOM. This is horrible and beyond belief.

As hurt as we are at our hands being tied, let us look at things:
Mountains were moved for Terri, that seldom have been moved, and Jeb was behind a lot of it.
If Jeb had gotten the DCF to take her into protective custody, it still would have taken a court ruling to approve of it, and they would have lost, because Greer had authority, and at best, they would have gotten Terri two days, and cause a political uproar.
If Jeb had kept Terri without court approval, then there would have been a major political crisis.
Although you might think the state police and national guard belong to Jeb, it's not that simple. Their bosses understand politics and would make decisions based on that. They may have refused to back Jeb, they may have chosen to side with the courts or the legislature, and you would have had a real mess.
The state would have been in great turmoil, nothing would have stayed accomplished, Jeb would probably have been impeached and probably convicted, and it would have been impossible for him to do anything else for the citizens of Florida. And Terri would have still been allowed to die.
It is a shame, but a governor is not a king, and I know Jeb looked at every possible political reality and no doubt found out that the state police weren't going to back him, that not enough people in the legislature weren't going to back him, the DCF felt their chances of keeping Terri were slim and he didn't have enough real power to pull it off.
The man worked hard, but he is not Jesus. He couldn't make a miracle.
Miracles are in the hands of God.
That a governor be swayed because he thinks the state police might not back his order means that state is already in a big mess. I just wanted to point that out.

Good morning, polly. I firmly believe this to be true, unless our country repents, turns from its wicked ways, that is what will happen....that is God's promise in the Scriptures...those nations which do evil is judged by God.

In a way FV, he has taken over America! As a nation, we need to repent, seek God's face and return to HIM. Notice that most all who have been fighting for Terri's life have been God Fearing Believers in Jesus Christ , who valued life enough to GIVE HIS OWN LIFE on the Cross!! I pray for Terri, I pray for the Schindlers, and I weep for America this day!
The state legislature has as much of Terri's blood on their hands as the judges, but where where is it written in the state legislature that Terri should be denied water by mouth? That was a law that the judge enacted.
... and one he has enforced successfully.
