Yes, they do - forgetting, of course, what a problem that sort of action could cause down the road.
And if President and Governor Bush do not respond to their pressure, they'll make offensive comparisons to Pontius Pilate and withdraw their political support. Nice.
Let me try to explain this "rationally". Neither G.W. nor Jeb Bush is a dictator, but they have ceded whatever powers they have under law in this case to Greer, thus making HIM a dictator. If the governor of the state of Florida refuses to exercise his lawful power to save Mrs. Schiavo's life, he has become an accomplice in causing her death. same with the Prez. There are many, many instances, this one included, where there is no bright line between the authority of the executive branch and the judicial branch. In those instances, the power belongs to whichever branch acts to use its authority. Greer's power exists only in the vacuum created when elected leaders refuse to lead.
