It drives me crazy when they make these big statements and then nothing happens. I do know from past experience that it can take a long time, a really long time, for Congress to get anything done and often it appears that nothing is happening. An example is the man and his wife who just happened to pick up a cell phone conversation of Newt Gingrich on a scanner they just happened to have in their car and then recorded parts of it on the tape recorder they just happened to have with them that day. There was a big ruckus when it happened and then it just seemed to fall from sight. Lo' and behold, a year or so later the guy was in front of a Federal judge and placed on probation. Not hardly the punishment I would have imposed, but they really did follow up and charge the guy. Let's hope it goes this way in this case. However, I am not holding my breath or placing any bets!

Again, if you think it is so simple, grab a gun and go get her.

If you think it is so simple.

If not, then there must be something to the legal aspects of the case

It would have to be nonviolent protest. Anything violent would get her killed, as well as other innocent people. Kind of at cross-purposes with the mission.

Though even Gandhi wrote that taking arms from the People was unconscionable.

This constant drumbeat about living wills is beginning to sound an awful lot like blaming the victim. Terri, a lovely 26 year old woman, didn't write down the words "feed me". This ommission has now been effectively turned into a crime meriting her starvation. But then, maybe that's just another rationalization people make for themselves as they cheer her murder.

That makes no sense. The State, Man, not God is murdering Terri. Your rational makes the case for the "right to die" movement.

Think about your position a little bit more carefully. Man killed the Son of God, because it was God's will that it be so. Remember the little conversation between Jesus and God the night before in the garden?

While this should serve as a wakeup call that our Judiciary needs to be cleaned out and our laws reformed on the matter of the so-called "right to die," do not confuse this with an injustice of biblical proportions. It's just a reminder of the ongoing metaphysical struggle for the souls of men.

Take heart in how many people are outraged, and let us all resolve to redouble our political efforts, and work smarter to affect changes in the law. The judiciary today is a result of both activist judges and liberal laws. We have to change the latter before the former will follow, albeit a bit later in the process.

I'm not diminishing the horror of the situation, just trying to put it into perspective. It is out of our hands now. The Bush's are constrained by their vow to uphold the Constitution, so they can't take action that would be deemed unconstitutional, even if it seems like the right thing to do on moral grounds.

Sometimes the more effective way to defeat injustice is to let it stand. It is hard to change laws; it should be hard to change laws. Let the injustice of this outcome fuel your energy to work harder to change the laws.

Otherwise, you'll take the liberal bait and become as much a catalyst for our constitutional demise as they are, by their flagrant abuse of the law to do evil.

"The possibility has occurred to me that none of those allegations are true, and that's why no prosecution ever took place. Could that be the answer to your question? Yes! Thought I was going crazy reading all the conspiracy theories, especially on this board where folks normally apply reasoned thinking to issues.

Yeah but the Consitution might have ceased to exist altogether if he didn't take action...

"When we the people, who are the government, don't agree on when or how that is, you get confusion."

TRUE. And when we permit God to be removed from our government there IS confusion. God is not a God of confusion!

Moral Absolutes are imperative to our Republic.

I'm not an opponent of civil disobedience in any way, as long as it is non-violent. It's an effective tool.

That said, there are few willing to take that step, since it leads to the consequence of being arrested and even prosecuted.

Violent civil disobedience I oppose absolutely.

No. That is a silly question. God is sovereign and His will is never thwarted by man. If she was meant to die then, she would have died then.

Thank you for correcting me on that. You are of course right. That was a poorly thought out question.

It would take more than a few citizens to arrest him. I'm betting he's got a full guard by now.

Paid for, of course, by Terri's rehab money...

Niiiiiiiice. I havn't been fishing in a while (just going after some steelhead up around Mount Baker last year) and I kinda miss it, more so now that ya all are talking about it.

Time to pack up my stuff, and take my daughters fishing again soon, I think...

Very, very few Americans would support the President acting like some banana-republic dictator.

You're right, MM. We reserve that behavior for the judges.

>>Rilya Wilson was murdered and a scam was perpetuated to cover up the murder. She was killed by her "grandmother," not DCF.<<

Exactly I thought I saw this case on CTV...You are correct the person who had custody of her killed her and was making it seem as though a social worker came and got her.
But that never happened.

Right, DCF lost track of her. They were supposed to be doing their jobs and they weren't.
