Even if the Supremes ruled for Terri - and I doubt they will - Judge Greer would still refuse to give up his quest for her death.

As I see it, Jeb Bush has to do his job and take her into protective custory. Whatever it takes.

ALERT: Wednesday was a rollercoaster of emotions for us, here in Tallahassee, Florida.

We've lobbied the state Senators HARD this past week, trying to get just three swing votes to come our way. On Wednesday, the bill that could have saved Terri Schiavo from being starved to DEATH was defeated... by just three votes.

There were a number of Senators who told us they were either with us, or would abstain from voting... but they LIED to us, and voted against the bill. It was a disgusting display of politics, while this woman lies dying.

But there was GOOD news, too.

At 2:00pm, we got a meeting between folks from RightMarch (William Greene and our attorney, Larry Klayman) and Governor Bush's chief counsel (his top lawyer on staff). We presented information on why the Governor has the authority RIGHT NOW under Florida Law and the state constitution to take Terri into protective custody NOW, and save her life.

One hour later, Gov. Bush held a press conference announcing that he believes he has the authority to take Terri into protective custody.

That was GREAT news... except, he DIDN'T DO IT. Instead of stepping right in and saving Terri's life, he waited until Judge Greer (who ordered Terri to be starved to death) issued an order forbidding the Governor or his agencies to get involved.

This is OUTRAGEOUS. Governor Bush needs to step up to the plate NOW, and exercise his constitutional and legal authority NOW, before Terri dies. But he doesn't seem to be willing to take that chance and do it... so we thought we should help encourage him.

So once more, we need YOUR help.

We need EVERYONE READING THIS EMAIL to call Governor Jeb Bush RIGHT AWAY, and ask him to do one simple thing:

"PLEASE EXERCISE YOUR LEGAL AUTHORITY, AND TAKE TERRI SCHIAVO INTO PROTECTIVE CUSTODY RIGHT AWAY."

That's all we're asking you to do. Just call Gov. Bush NOW and beg him to save Terri's life.

TAKE ACTION: PLEASE call Governor Jeb Bush's office NOW at 850-488-4441 (or fax him at 850-487-0801), asking him to exercise the executive powers he ALREADY HAS, and take custody of Terri Schiavo to save her from being starved to death. We've already met one-on-one with Gov. Bush's General Counsel lawyers, showing them point-by-point exactly why the Governor DOES have those powers right NOW. On Thursday, we're also bringing in Alan Keyes and Larry Klayman to try to meet with the Governor and urge him to take Terri into protective custody. Call Gov. Bush NOW and ask him to USE his legal powers to save Terri's life. You can also e-mail him at jeb@myflorida.com .
