No, IMHO one cannot be a real Christian and want Terri's death.. a true Christian follows the Bible.. God does not look kindly on killing innocents.. There is no Biblical allowance for "mercy killing" which this isn't...or straight murder (which this is). He especially wouldn't look kindly on an adulterous husband trying to starve his wife to death....
Thank you. You said so eloquently what I was trying to say.
Merciful Father, You have put before us the extent of evil that surrounds us, and until we see that a mother is barred from comforting her dying child ... until we see one Judge close every avenue of hope ... until we hear the ringing endorsement of ending a "useless" life ... we can now only begin to understand the power of the prince of darkness. This mother stands alone ... before the world, she's tragically alone, watching her daughter being slowly murdered before her eyes.
None can save her, O God, but You. From the least to the greatest, they have tried, but none can save her but You. Work in the heart of this one Judge who has before him the petitions for her life ... let him not wash his hands of her murder, but cause him to rule righteously and well.
Into Your hands we commend our beloved Terri, O God ... care for her, comfort her ... be for her the mother and father and sister and brother who cannot hold her in her hours of agony. Take to her our tears ... whisper our prayers ... speak to her of our love, for she is as alone as her mother. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we pray in the agony of our own sorrow, Amen ...
