Jefferson was the first to warn of the dangers of the Supreme Court, but the Federalist minority at the time was still strong enough to protect the court and allow it to assume so much power under the tenure of Jefferson's cousin John Marshall.
And we have witnessed it, over and over again.
The very same Chief Justice Marshall who made a ruling which the President disagreed with. Andrew Jackson said, Now let the CJ enforce his rule.
