I'll bump it again; maybe someone here will have a fax and send the following info:
lakey to Scoop1: "Re: Your Empire Journal link - According to state statutes, DCF does not need a court's approval to initially take an endangered individual into protective custody. They can first remove the person and obtain emergency medical services and then file for additional protection for the individual in the courts.
Case law precedent was established in 1972 decision by the 2nd District Court of Appeals.
So, how is it that this is being ignored, the DCF backing off taking charge of this situation with Terri? And Jeb's attorneys not enforcing the DCF's rights?
Is it because Terri has already been "sentenced" to death?"
Sun to lakey: This is interesting. Does anyone have a fax to send it to Jeb Bush, or even Attorney Gibbs. I wonder if these people even read TheEmpireJournal. If they don't, they are nuts. TEJ does most of the work for them.
After watching this display, does anyone really think that Roe v Wade will ever be overturned? We'll never have the judges, the political will, or frankly a concerned enough electorate.
Whittemore arose from the Florida cesspool of judicial rubber stamping and he is continuing the tradition ... but why ?
That is definitely not true. They have all done the same as or more than I.
I said TONIGHT we were called to pray.
Amen!
All these people here praying have been working 'round the clock emailing, calling and faxing congressmen, governors, the President, etc. urging them to save Terri. Many here have offered up options that could have been taken. That they were not used, or that we were thwarted by a judiciary with an agenda of its own does not mean we didn't do enough.
Debate and discussion has so far yielded nothing in the form of saving Terri's life. Does that mean you should debate and discuss less?
bttt
That sounds promising, LegalEagle. Let's hope Gibbs cited excellent case law.
FRiends:
Tonight has been an amazing time. Singing, praising, encouraging, exhorting, sharing about our Terri. Though we have all grown to love her, He loves her still more. We can rest, leaning on the everlasting arms.
I am going on to bed now. It is very late, and I have to get up with the little ones early. See you here, there, or in the air!
One last petition:
Father, You have said in Your word that You will never leave us or forsake us. As Your Son, Jesus prayed on this night, many, many years ago, so we pray that Your will be done. We know that You will life, and we pray for living water for Terri.
We pray again for the miracle of your Son, who takes away the sins of the world. Oh, Lord, that Michael Schiavo, the judges and attorneys would bend their knees to You, God of all Creation and Author of and Sustainer of Life.
Jesus, You promised us that in this life, we would have trouble, yet we do take heart, for you have overcome the world. We ask humbly that you would sustain Terri's life, that you would confound the media, the doctors, the judges, and, Lord, even us...for your glory and for your sake. Show yourself strong through this precious woman. Show the world that You are risen indeed, and that Terri, that the world regards as "vegetative" is on the forefront of your mind.
Forgive them, Lord, for they know not what they do.
Be with those who continue diligently in prayer through the night and into tomorrow. Show us what actions to take, and we will be faithful.
In Christ's Precious Name, Amen
Huh. Ya outta live in Southern California...talk about wanting to take ACTION!!!!
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boy.
Don't you dare go start another thread. You're cool...hang around. Or I'll knock you up the side of the head, bless your heart. :)
Gibbs has such a pure face. It's probably a goad to Whittemore.
Good night, all!
I am falling asleep at the wheel.
God keep you all in the palm of his hand.
I am posting my Passion poems on this thread:

Until tomorrow!
I have written, I have emailed, and I've gotten on the phone with senators and tried not to break down in tears.
I have anxiety issues and I don't do well talking to people I don't know, but I gave it my best shot, even though I was shaking and felt like I was going to throw up.
I won't stop after this is over either. Several people I know are in the planning stages of something big and I'm going to see this through to the end. No more sitting back hoping someone else is taking care of it for me.
Right now I can't do any of those things since it's 11:30 at night and I have children to watch over. I can however, pray when the Lord tells me it is time to pray!

I don't think prayer is a passive activity. And we DID take what you call "REAL" action! We've done all Brad's Gramma said, phoned, faxed, emailed. Some of us are even at the hospice right now. But you weren't here when we were doing that for two days.
We also had no control over the lawyers in the case.
I am not going to get into an argument with you about prayer...I know prayer's worth and you don't feel the same, but I DO take offense at being told we haven't done anything.
Nope. I'd LIKE it to be, but no. I don't believe it will be.
yes gramma....{{{hiding my red face}}} Sorry
What true words.... thank you!
