Yes, he is quoting what other people say for the truth of the matter asserted, that are not really part of merely a statement of his assumptions upon which he bases his expert opinion as to Terri's condition. The affidavit is meandering. It is not well done from a legal perspective. Some of the material shouuld have been placed in the text of the motion. No, I won't mention Gibbs again.

He has seen her CT images. SHe has cortex left. My impression was there was no cortex, just cerebrospinal fluid writ large until I saw an image purported to be hers here at FR yesterday. I knew then she had cortex. I'm sick of being lied to.

"As I looked at Terri and she gazed directly back at me, I asked myself, if I were her attending physician, I could in good conscience withdraw her feeding and hydration. No, I could not. I could not withdraw life support if I were asked. I could not withhold hydration and nutrition from this beautiful lady whose face brightens in the presence of others." Dr William Cheshire after spending 90 minutes with Terri Schiavo. Taken from his affadavit dated 3/23/05.

I found the affadavit quite detailed, compelling, with numerous footnotes. "Obectionable hearsay" is a far cry from accurate, IMHO.
