Why not? Does hospice prevent people from bringing water to their other patients? Wasn't the order just against the _feeding tube_ and not the food and water (I could be wrong on this, haven't read the court order)?

Mr Schiavo has had strict orders in place that nothing that could be construed as "rehabilitation" be done to his "wife". This included at one point treatment for a urinary tract infection which took a court order telling him to allow the treatment.

He's banned her parents from bringing video camera's into her room and at other times banned them from coming to see her.
