Looks like these cops need some new uniforms! hint, hint, hint...
Children put in hand cuffs for trying to give Terri water, I am appalled.
That would result in quick death. Greer doesn't have that kind of compassion. Slow, wretched torture is his style.
Well, it's not funny, so keep laughing. It's actually quite sad - the whole situation... what's happening to Terri, what's happening with our court system, and worst of all - ya know what the saddest part is? The saddest part is what's happening here at FR - People who usually look at the media with questioning eyes suddenly believe every bit of stuff they print, people who normally are against children being used for publicity stunts are suddenly loving it, people who think the federal government is over-reaching with it's power are suddenly screaming for the feds to jump in, and people who normally think logically are suddenly reacting with raw emotion and screaming about every little thing they hear from "someone in front of the thrift store" etc...
That being said, I think the mother, who couldn't bring herself to join in and get arrested, is full of crap. But that's just my opinion...
My youngest daughter (14) would have already been down there, and hence, in jail. We have talked about this, and she is mad as he[[. She has not seen this story yet, but I'm going to hear another tirade tonight !!!
bump
As opposed to the State killing her by denying her water of any quality?
Your logic function is broken along with your humanity subroutine timing out. I suggest that you report to the government maintenance dept. for a brain and heart transplant.
Of course they might be overruled by the courts deeming your existence not to be cost effective or wise use of government resources.
Don't I wish I could put a (/sarcasm) tag here.
wonder if any took sick time or vacation time to avoid this
Let's see:
1] Simple issue of a woman dying of thirst being offered water
2] Peaceful protest by conservatives where the risk of violence is minimal to non existent
compared to
1] Complexities of the reasons for war
2] Almost universal outbreak of riots at 'peace rallies'
Which issue is more readily understood by a child?
Which one places the child more at risk?
Ask a child to explain it to you since I am sure that you don't understand the difference.
All things are relative FRiend. You get might get 500 gal/day, if life is perfect. Reverse Osmosis water systems performance vary with the feed water temperature and salinity. The average rated performance for most systems is tested at 26°C / 80°F water temperature and a salinity of 35000 ppm TDS. Efficiency is about 10%, so you need to run 5000 gallons a day through your system to get 500 gallons, with spec conditions (which never happens). Lawyers are usually crappy engineers. Nice boat, BTW. Best...
This week will leave memories in our minds, that will never go away. Most will be ugly.
Arrest of children for a glass of water.
A President, who can do nothing.
Something is very wrong.
Check your calander: spring break. no hooky here.
Interesting sub-topic in this thread...
Some questions:
Did the judge rule that Terri was merely to be removed from artificial life support (feeding tube)? Or that she was to be executed?
If she was only to be removed from her feeding tube, then why are marshalls stationed all around to prevent her from receiving food and water by mouth? When we "pull the plug" on someone who is on an artificial breathing apparatus and that person begins to breathe on their own, do we then cover their face with a pillow and suffocate them (deny them air)? If not, then why are we denying Terri spoon-fed food and a few sips of water from a cup hoisted to her lips?
If the judge has ruled that Terri is to be executed, then why is it being done in such a cruel and inhumane manner? Why is she being allowed to slowly starve and dehydrate? Why not kill her in a far more merciful manner, like putting a gun to her head and blowing her brains out?
Since public opinion polls seem to matter so much these days, maybe we should take a poll on how many Americans would rather eat a bullet than slowly whither away from starvation and dehydration. If they'd rather be shot than starved, then pehaps we could pass a bill advocating that all undesirables be lined up and shot. Wouldn't that be much more humane? /sarcasm
Thanks for revealing yourself.
Go to DU where you belong.
No, this is Florida not Texas where then Gov. Bush signed a law in 1999 allowing the hospitals not the relatives to pull the plugs when the money ran out.
PS: Terri is on mediciad - guess who led the charge to cut medicaid?
Unfortunately the judge ruled against her receiving any food or hydration period, wether it was via tubes or not... :(
Fine by me, but don't act like, "omigosh they're arresting children now!"
Freeps are losing it completely now.
I think the kids would have gotten the same education watching their parents hauled off to the pokey.
If she was only to be removed from her feeding tube, then why are marshalls stationed all around to prevent her from receiving food and water by mouth?
