I don't know. I know that you can't have an MRI with metal in your brain. I heard one of the Docs on tv tonight say that they would need to be removed before she could have an MRI. My husband has a shunt with a magnet in it. He gets MRI's but the shunt needs to be reset with a magnet each time because the MRI's magnet shuts it off.
