The judicial system is completely gone already.

What is worse now is how such an issue like the Schiavo case is ripping the nation apart again.

We need to look no further that FReerepublic to see how bad this is. It is not just here but everywhere. Im not just sad but sickened by it because maybe Im coming to the realization that my generation and those before me are smaller in numbers. We have people now who don't remember the past. God forbid you even dare mention it - discussing anything related to Nazism is taboo.

There is a new younger generation of people including many FReepers who have never seen the horrible things man can do. They don't realize where all this is headed. The don't seem to notice the dehumanization in progress, the sanctity of human life that no longer exists in the mainstream.

I feel like checking out of this. It is so horrible where we are headed and like a runaway train it cannot be stopped.

The salivating bloodlust by some and the indifference of others as a woman, a human life lays there starving to death.

A dog at the SPCA has more gets more sympathy that Terri does.

Her parents want her, they want to take her home to love her and care for her and they are denied by a court and an exhusband who want her dead.

Why not let the parents have her?

This entire thing is just evil and insane.

It appears as if the People (Fox News Polls) and their Federal Courts have spoken, so as to proclaim that It is not inhumane to starve a person (Terri Schiavo) to death and it is not inhumane to deny hydration to a person for whatever amount of time is required to cause that person to die. In the olden days, this would have been called murder, but in 2005-speak, it is called something else. So much for "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness......."

Since the enlightened Federal Courts and "the People" have now ruled this way in the matter of Terri Schiavo, and, as the Supreme Court has to date chosen to give its assent by refusing to hear the case, then there should be no problem with denying food and water to Prisoners on Death Row until such time as they shall graduate from the physical dimension. Obviously, since it is not cruel and unusual punishment to kill Terri by this method, it cannot be "Cruel and Unusual Punishment" to end the lives of Death Row murderers and rapists by the same method.

I look forward to hearing the supportive comments on Fox News and I will actually buy a "New York Times" on the day that they run an editorial supporting the use of "Food and Water Denial" as a humane way to kill the Death Row inmates.

Sigh .......

The MSM has deliberately lied about the facts of this case, and so the public has partial excuse.

You are right, though, the MSM cannot be entirely blamed. Our personal natural checks and ballances should be naturally inclined towad Life. If they were that would serve to limit the effectiveness of the propaganda of the MSM. Clearly more Americans than not are inclined toward death.

They'll deny it, but why else so passionate that her life must end NOW? If this was really about dry matters of law and fact, that could be resolved at a later time. The case would not be hurt by allowing her to live during that interim. But, no. She must die now. They are arguing for Death.

I can only pray God will intervene, because I don't believe Americans as a majority any longer respect Life.

"This entire thing is just evil and insane."

This is all a result of activist judges, who selectively ignore laws or make some up themselves, or interpret them in ways that aren't consistent with the laws -- all, just to push their own agenda.

That's why judicial appointments are so important.

We need judges who will interpret the law, the US law and the US constitution.

Even our US Supreme Court made rulings, where they referred to general public opinion and the UN and foreign courts, I think it was about eliminating the death penalty for those under 18, but I remember there was something else a while ago too.

After Terri is murdered, the USA should issue one of its "public apologies" that Bill Clinton was so famous far. This "apology" should be to the nominally defunct Nazi Germany. We should tell the Germans that we regret fighting the Nazis because many of their "values" have now become "American values." We can say that we have "moved on" and "learned" with their experience.

your thoughtful post lets us know that our work has only begun. We must all fight euthanasia in our own states and it is a battle that we must win.

We are not only fighting for our fellowman, we are fighting for our friends, family and ourselves. We must figh for the santity of life for all we are worth.

You are so right!! We need to continue to fight this evil, even after Terri's fight is over.
