"By the way I doubt your little nomination story."

Doubt it all you want. It is in his sworn testimony in Court. Your doubt has no effect on the sworn, proven facts.

You are correct that this isn't the way a REAL Nobel nomination happens. The point is that his guy's "Nobel Prize nomination" that people keep crowing about is NOT REAL.

It matters to the court I'm afraid high powered lawyers are known by the judges because they appear before them more often. There is recognition and some sort of collegiality that exists I'm afraid. I'm not saying it's fair or ok but it is happening all the time.

"Where are you hosting your "Hooray, she's dead party?""

There is disagreement among Freepers regarding this case. I did not read any messages from that person indicating any celebratory sentiments.

The issues involved here are complex, and people disagree about them. That is as it should be. The discussion continues.

I know, but seems no one wants to listen to her. Don't know why! Such craziness! The DOJ should be investigating this matter right now and take Terri into protective custody!

That's some progress. But they need to put her on a little later for the West Coast time slot. Hopefully, she'll be on later somewhere.

They should have had her on for weeks; they have NOT been investigating this. They have taken, as gospel truth, the lies spouted by Felos and Schiavo and what Greer says is truth.

then it is only a few short, slippery steps to the point of taking "the right to die" to mean "the obligation to die".

It happens now, in a subtle way, in the medical field. Additionally, up for discussion are topics such as removing organs from those who are still alive, using PVS patients for medical experiments, and extending this dehydration death to those who are not dxed as PVS.

Amerika becomes the next utilitarian society very shortly, is my guess.

How's that for starters?

Here is the conclusion of Dr. Barret from the web site you offered:

Conclusion
The theoretical basis for Hammesfahr's vasodilation treatment for stroke clashes with current knowledge about stroke physiology. In fact, the prevailing current belief is that such treatments should worsen stroke outcome, not improve it. I believe that vasodilation treatment for stroke patients should be done only as part of an approved peer-reviewed protocol that includes informed consent about the treatment's experimental status and possible risks. Because of the potential risk, I doubt that an institutional review board would permit such a study unless animal studies can demonstrate that the treatment is safe and potentially useful.

While this doctor questions the methods of Dr. Hammesfahr, it seems to me a bit inflammatory and extreme to claim he is a quack based on one doctor's opinion of his method.

BTW, I may have erred when I recollected that his method involved hyperbaric pressure. In reading Dr. Barret's opinion, I didn't see anything about hyperbaric pressure, but rather ultrasound waves.

Thanks for this number. I did call and told them my views about our acceptance of killing off a useless eater.

Our options are running out.

At least, if the poor girl dies, the circumstances around her death CANNOT be allowed to be covered up.

What can her parents or supporters do, in terms of an injunction or class action suit, to forbid the girl from having immediate cremation with no autopsy?

Let's work for her LIFE, but let's also prepare for the eventuality she does not make it. Michael Schiavo cannot be let off the hook. There must be some way the government can demand an autopsy due to questionable circumstances.

We should hound the truth out of this situation, and also prepare legislation so that such a situation never occurs again. It could be called "Terri's Law", and for sure we have a President who would sign it, in his remaining three years.

We know a President Hilary Clinton would sign no such legislation aimed against the "Culture of Death".

Yet in the end, it comes down to the law. Perhaps those attorneys become well-known because they argue the law better than others.

BTW, a high-priced, well-known attorney didn't seem to help Scott Peterson. Clarence Darrow lost the Scopes Trial.

Interesting, isn't it, that the two most grotesque examples of judicial overreach and insanity in this young century - maybe in the last as well -- both come from Florida. I've spent a little time in both Northern (OK) and Southern FLA and there is something pretty creepy about So. Fla. Lots of plastc surgery, trying to be Beverly Hills, etc. And obviously something definitely insane about the whole state judiciary (the feds go without saying, no one should have seriously thought getting this into federal court would be any solution.) I'm a lawyer and I pray this will finally force the long overdue showdown between the out of control, rogue judiciary and the legislature(s.) But the legislature has to want to take their power back.

Whittemore thinks Hillary will put him on the Supreme Court, no doubt.

I don't buy it. Given the pleading that the Schindlers' lawyer made, Whittemore virtually had to rule the way he did. For the same reason, the 11th Circuit is likely to uphold Whittemore.

Neither of those rulings are because the judges want to "kill Terri." They are because the Schindlers' lawyer totally blew the opportunity he'd been given by the Congress to get a new trial.

This is horrible to watch. Unless somebody gets in there and straightens that lawyer out, Terri is going to die because the lawyer screwed up horribly.

Whether or not Teri can get better should be irrelevant IMHO. Who says a life is not a life unless it has some 'potential' to improve to a certain standard? Oh,,I guess our judicial system does.

I'm concerned that nutrition and hydration are now considered medical 'interventions'........that is very scary

Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice; moderation in the face of evil is no virtue.

So, you are wrong. Those advocating the murder of this young woman deserve the scorn they are receiving.

The state now has the power to order the death of citizens. The judiciary gets ever more powerful and the elected bodies ever more weaker.

That's my view as well.
