"I think you'd be hard-pressed to convince me that you have a substantial likelihood" of the parents' lawsuit succeeding, the judge said.

What the hell is with this foot dragging? The Judge is going to let them slowly torture and murder this woman, the justification being that the parent's probably wouldn't win a lawsuit after they sucessflly murder her with a Judge and the state of FL's blessing?

Is his primary consideration a LAWSUIT? And he will let her be murdered at the hands of the state, if he thinks it wouldn't result in successful litigation? Is that what I am picking up here?

And if he quickly issued an opinion upholding the Florida courts he'd be accused of not looking at all the facts. Face it, if he doesn't agree with you, he's going to be pilloried.

A prerequisite for the issuance of an injunction under Federal law is that the movant have a "substantial likelihood of success on the merits" as the case goes forward. That is what the judge is talking about.

I'm sure you want the judge to just follow the law, right? Not be a judicial activist and make a ruling based upon how he feels?

That appears to be what he says.

THAT SAID.... I believe he's just a scared poopless of what evil and corruption will be shown in the light of an honest examination.

Remember, he's down there, in the slime pit. I believe he know's only too well who's dirty. And I think it's not just Greer and Felos and MS... I think there's a lot of people behind the scenes at this point hiding in fear, hoping Terri dies.

That's what I'm picking up from the article.

I've never heard such "reasoning" before. Ludicrous.

He's supposed to apply the law objectively. The legislature hands him a law, that's what binds him, not the prospects of future litigation.
