Why cut off her arms???? My interpretation is that Michael was hoping the parents would fall for a childish trick where a child, when told he can have the broken cookies, sees to it that lots of cookies end up broken.
If they agreed that Terri should be killed if it were ever necessary to amputate a leg, Terri's leg would have somehow gotten scratched and never treated. Oops, so sorry about that, but since you agreed it would be better for her to die than to have her leg amputated...

He twisted her parent's words from another interview they did.
It was in response to a hypothetical question about what they would do if Terri ever developed gangrene in her limbs and her life was threatened.
Would they just let her die, or if amputation was necessary to save her life, would they do that?
Well, listen to last week's interview. He sounds almost hysterical insisting that Terri's parents would keep her alive in any and all circumstances, no matter what!
He twists the truth into a lie!
