I saw a guy on Fox last night talk about Pontius Pilate, pointing out how he was a politician who washed his hands of the issue of an innocent person, and let the mob rule. The person speaking made the comparison to congressional action on Terri, and he hoped congress would not do like Pontius.
I thought of that this morning as I listened to the reading of the Passion.
Most of the DemonRats are today's Pontius Pilates. How on earth could they go to church on Palm Sunday and a few hours later wash their hands of a morale decision.
I do not understand it.
I am not a fan of Pat Buchanan. But he said it so very well almost thirteen years ago:
"There is a religious war going on in our country for the soul of America. It is a cultural war, as critical to the kind of nation we will one day be as was the Cold War itself."
To borrow a line from George Herbert Walker Bush from just over fourteen years ago:
Tonight, the battle has been joined.
Evil never gives up.
