Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Seriously though, my point is that I don't think this is a right-left issue. I know there are conservatives who are not behind this, particularly the feds getting involved which, I assure you troubles me greatly as well.
But, overwhelmingly, as far as I have seen and read, the pro-Terri position is being characterized as a position of the right and I am seeing a lot of knee-jerk opposition that seesm motivated by nothing other than contrarianism.
(I think I just made up a word.)

I think the dems in general have a long and (gulp) proud history of supporting the extermination of their electorate (abortion euthanasia etc)

I am not a Tom Harkin fan. I did watch him this morning and I think he is sincere in his wish to make sure that the rights of people with disabilities are not trampled on.
