Everyday, people decide who lives and dies. I was reminded of this when I was watching an episode of the show "HOUSE" last week that when patients need organ transplants it's just a bunch of Dr.'s and administrators deciding who gets the organs and who doesn't. And somebody can be left to die because of the fact they smoke, or drink or somebody thinks their lifestyle is wrong. But it's human beings making life and death decisions for other people. Why has this case gone this far? I think that has more to do with the political agenda of the pro-lifers. It's an easy one for them because they're able to demonize someone. My sympathies are with Michael Schiavo.

I think it's agenda driven too. And perhaps her parents and anger and $$.

I would haunt someone who did this to me. And I would WANT my husband to go on and make a life for himself. He was a young man, for goodness sake.

I've just discovered where the middle aged and older single folks go here in town to meet each other. It's an upscale bar off an upscale restaurant. I've told my husband if something happens to me, wait 6 months and then start going there. He's older than me by 13 years so it's unlikely I'll go first, but you never know and I want to make sure he knows, he is NOT to sit around and feel sorry for himself.

Honestly, I am pro life but to me, starving a person until they die is completely inhumane. People get arrested for starving animals to death because it's so painful. Dehydration... look up what happens to the human body without water. Horrible way to go. Imagine watching your daughter in such agony.

IMO, if she is to die, at least be honest and 'kind' about it and smother her with a pillow or inject her with a fatal drug so she doesn't suffer horribly for one or two weeks. Kill her straightaway and stop being squeamish about it.

Imagine watching a person die when they are intentionally starved to death... they can't even give her an ice chip to temporarily alleviate her suffering.

If she were on life support, such as a ventilator, then this story and the response to it would be quite different.
