Oh for God's sake. He abandoned her because he, like many others, beleive she is already dead. It's her body that's still around. He was a young man. I don't know any woman that would expect the man they love to sit by their bedside for 30 years while they were in a vegitative state. If they did, they didn't deserve such a man. Once again you show your ignorance... It's not a question of what she would or would not expect. He made a vow before God Almighty to take care of her not matter what unto death. I guess in your world, such vows don't matter... their cheap and disposable.
All he has to do to prove he is not selfish is let her Parents have guardianship, get a divorce, and he's free and clear. But, he won't.
