As the son of a 30-year Navy man who did two stints off Nam in the late-60's, the stories about the folks back home really hit home with me. The battlefield valor is obviously the most commendable thing going, but the resolute strength of the wives back home is almost as impressive.

...Mrs.JULIE MOORE, then Lt. Col. HAL G. MOORE's homebound wife in "WE WERE SOLDEIRS,"...

...passed on after a sudden short illness last year and was buried next to IA DRANG Hero Soldier JACK GILL at the Ft. Benning Post Cemetary on April 22, 2004.

...PAT TILLMAN, who was trained at the Ft. Benning Army Ranger School nearby, was killed in Afghanistan about the very same time that day.

I know. I was blessed to be there honoring the MOORE Family at Ft. Benning GA that day, where I said a Prayer for PAT TILLMAN at the entrance to his Ranger School on my way to the Post Cemetary.

At about the very time he was in the firefight of his life many 1,000's of miles away.

GOD is Good.
