Wish I had the answers, TR. I guess there are Republicans who so lack a spine, they will even let an innocent woman die a slow death in public, rather than act like leaders.

The governor doesn't have to wait for the bill to pass. He can sincerely anticipate that it will, and act NOW. If he won't, he's a coward, plain and simple. No better than Ted Kennedy who left a woman to die by inches while he attended to his political hygiene.

"My hands are tied," says Jeb. "My hands are clean," said Pilate. Same damn thing.

Jeb's reluctance is really unexplainable. Were I the FL governor, I would have used the DCF long, long ago in this case, and we wouldn't be where we are today. I think he fears there would be an Attica Prison style shootout if he intervened and that Terri would be killed in the crossfire. What other explanation is there? Surely not fear of impeachment? Fear of the Scientologists? What?

I think you are too hard on Jeb. I think the experience of Governor Gilmore is probably a strong warning to let others do this one, this time.

You don't know what Jeb is doing behind the scenes.
