Have you been to the beach lately on a weekend? It is like Tijuana!
Complete with the independent-contractor vendors.
I lived in Venezuela for three years, so I know the look rather well... what I'm waiting for is the day that when traffic is backed up on the freeway they jump out of the bushes with chicharrones, roses, and apples for sale. That's when I'll know it's over.

Oh, I had that happen to me on the north end of the 710 freeway.....three different people selling junk and asking flat out for money.

Hawthorne Blvd exit from 405 North at 5:45.
Every damm day. Not to mention the cart guys walking up and down my street with the clown squeeze horn selling corn on the cob, shaved ice with the fruit syrup, and tacos. Not to mention the pack of illegals waiting for work out in front of the Winchells at Inglewood and Manhatten Beach Blvd.
Color me gone.
