Flash bulbs popping while discussing economics and security
Eight days, six countries, and a rock star welcome. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is making her first visit to Asia since moving into her offices at the State Department. And so far, the trip is the stuff of front-page photos and video headlines here.
After nearly 16-and-a-half hours of flying time, Rice stepped off the Boeing 757 after sunset on Tuesday to a platform filled with still and video photographers in New Delhi, the American ambassador to India waiting on the tarmac to show her to her car, and various local dignitaries eager to shake her hand.
When asked by a visiting reporter why all the fuss, given that it was already after dinner and dark to boot, a local embassy staffer said, Well, its the only picture the Indian media will get of Rice today! And indeed, Rices descent from the jet made the front pages, including the Wednesday's editon of the Times of India.

Heheheh. Yet another thing that is infuriating the democrats today! Life is good.
LOL....Powell must be fuming as well.
I might even watch TV news tonight without blowing a gasket.
Wish I was there!
Draft Condi Rice in 2008!!!
Well, look at her! She's a beauty. Awesome.
India is a great friend of the United States, also they are the world largest democracy - more power to them.
I wish we could give them the same level of support that we give to the chinese.
I guess "chinese" labor trumps a free labor market.

I'd like to see her "pullin on the boots" in China:)
She's a Lady.
Yeah, you've got that right. And she doesn't have her nose in the air or a 'Bubba' in her baggage...she doesn't appear to have any baggage. What a refreshing change!
She could be W's most inspired choice for a cabinet appointment..
though, I don't know, I'm a big fan of Rummy, too
Ya' know, I've been trying to come up with a word to describe her physical appearance, everyone knows about her brains.
She's not sexy. She's not gorgeous. She's not even pretty.
You describe her simply and accurately. "She's a beauty."
Her dignified stature, her quiet confidence, the ease with which she talks to Presidents and Premiers or a waitress at IHOP . . . yes . . . she's simply a beauty.
An American treasure.
Seeing the woman she ripped and opposed during the confirmation hearings being recognized and praised in her new post as Sec of State.
God, it's beautiful to see the hatred of the Dems backfire on them. Poetic justice.
"She's not sexy. She's not gorgeous. She's not even pretty.
. . . she's simply a beauty."
I think she's a sexy, gorgeous, pretty beauty...is something wrong with me?! I'm a girl!
"She doesn't appear to have any baggage."
We always hear this growing up, that we should be good, but she is the great example of what you can do with your life, when you don't have alot of rebelliousness, or past, hidden things over which people can attack you!
I agree...I'm so thankful we have Rumsfeld!
bttt
LOL.
Nope, nothing wrong with you. I'm just old. It pains me to think of sexy and gorgeous and be stuck in the starting gate with the "want-to's" when I know I have a terminal case of the "who are you kidding's." LOL.
Condi can probably fit any superlative laid on her. She's truly an American Treasure.
And the rest of the world knows it.
...India...Rice...Nah - if I said it, some wank would just start mindlessly shoutin' "racist"... :)
Get your teeth fixed, Babe !!! ;-))
