Rock star reception for Rice in India

Flash bulbs popping while discussing economics and security

Eight days, six countries, and a rock star welcome. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is making her first visit to Asia since moving into her offices at the State Department. And so far, the trip is the stuff of front-page photos and video headlines here.

After nearly 16-and-a-half hours of flying time, Rice stepped off the Boeing 757 after sunset on Tuesday to a platform filled with still and video photographers in New Delhi, the American ambassador to India waiting on the tarmac to show her to her car, and various local dignitaries eager to shake her hand.

When asked by a visiting reporter why all the fuss, given that it was already after dinner and dark to boot, a local embassy staffer said, “Well, it’s the only picture the Indian media will get of Rice today!” And indeed, Rice’s descent from the jet made the front pages, including the Wednesday's editon of the Times of India.

Look up the word "class" in the dictionary. Condi Rice's picture is there.

The same goes for the words "dignity," "confidence," "ability," and more.

Do you know what, geedee, this paragraph about Condi, it's too, a beauty!! You're good... I love it

Thanks. Great people tend to elicit better prose than do knuckle-heads like me. LOL.

The whole point of the article is how much people love and respect her because she's one of a kind. She's not in the shallow end of the pool - like so many with perfect teeth.

My wife doesn't have a gap but her upper middle teeth are offset by one and I've always adored it.

And no I'm not from Kentucky.

Mary Lou Jane, what a fine name,
you're nothing like those females from New York City,
front teeth missin', but that's fine for kissin'
you're more loyal than my dog Sam and twice as pretty.

Oak Hay... it's no big deal... but I just figure it would add to her beauty !!! ;-))

P.S. How did you know I have a dog named Sam (short for Samson)? He's a gorgeous, silky-black, long-haired Chiwawa !!! ;-))

It's grace. She has grace. It's the same quality that Laura Bush has.

The visit can hardly be described as successful. Condi and the US State Dept plucked a lot of Indian feathers with the F16 issue. Now barely days latter - an influential indian politician was denied a visa to visit the US at the urging of Slammies!!!

Secretary Rice's physical appearance and presence is simply "striking"

She's impeccably groomed, poised, confident, gracious, and graceful. Not conventionally beautiful, she demonstrates how radiance from within is far more important than commercial standards of attractiveness.

Striking!
