It would be too much of a drag on the rest of the country....not unlike taking on Puerto Rico.

At least Puerto Rico contributes a few good MLB players now and then. What does Mexico contribute that is of any significance?

You have made a significant point.

The FBI-DOJ Uniform Crime Report never seems to "report" any crime/violent crime statistics in San Juan, Puerto Rico or other cities in PR.

Much higher violent crime rates than even our worst urban cities here in the states.

DC, Chicago, New Orleans, South Central LA, Gary, Detroit, Houston, St/ Louis, Philadelphia and many other large urban cities (many have gun-bans or "elitist-leftist only FA permits") have murder rates and other violent crime rates about 25+ times the crime rate of the rest of the USA.

Somehow the democrats in these urban high-minority cities have decided to mandate that blacks (still after 150+ years) under their thumbs? are still on the plantation and that the US Constitution's 2nd Ammendment does not apply to the honest ancestors of American black slaves (or hispanics, whites, Asians, native American Indians, ....) very strange as many of the large urban cities now have black Mayors (with armed bodyguards do ya think?) and a majority black City Council and a majority of black Judges.

I have asked the FBI, NRA, DOJ, my 2 US Senators and my RINO US Rep why Puerto Rico (and some other high-crime cities) cannot manage to give the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Department of Justice "fairly accurate" totals of various types of crimes, "alleged perpetrators" (see how PC I can be?), victims, racial/ethnic breakdowns (the FBI-DOJ annual Uniform Crime Report does not list those of hispanic ancestry in a separate category/column - only "white", "black", "Asian", and "other"?) [why I wonder???]

But I digress - Puerto Rico has an astronomical crime rate - don't report/publish it and nobody will know?

In Puerto Rico they have used Puerto Rico's National Guard to surround and search large urban public housing complexes (much like Bill Clinton once had Chicago's public housing units searched and "tossed" - as they were federally subsidized - talk about "abuse of Civil Liberties"!)

Citizens in Puerto Rico also get a "unique" income tax break and mega perks and subsidies paid for by the citizens of the 50 US states taxes.

No wonder they did not/do not scream/vote for Independence or Statehood!

They can catch a jet, move to the states and vote in NYC and also in still in PR.

Annexing Mexico would be like Puerto Rico times a trillion headaches/criminals.

Mexico and many other foreign nations are so corrupted that any who come here (esp. illegal aliens ) bring with them the deadly poisons and cultures they grew up in an participated in.

See Thomas Jefferson on this little un-PC goodie.....

A parting thought - Mexico bans their citizens from owning most firearms (dangerous Washington DC is 100% gun-banned over 27 years!) - yet has incredibly high violent crime rates and totals - many, oddly with those same banned firearms!

Sarah Brady - You are badly needed in Mexico City and San Juan! - Jets are leaving every half hour - Don't forget to drag Jim along so you get your much larger "Speaker's Bureau" $25,000 a night banquet-speech fee!
