Nevertheless, the only people on record claiming that they will never respect Terri's wishes are the Schindlers. The Schindlers testified that they would keep Terri hooked up to a feeding tube against her own wishes.

And actually this is moot.

She never said anything about this to them, or even to her husband, according to testimony of one of his girlfriends.

So why does it even matter what the parents would do if they had even known her wishes? This is irrelevant to the issue at hand.

Actually, I tend to agree with you on this particular point. Since I'm not a judge, I don't understand why a judge would allow such a line of questioning.

On the other hand, from a judges' viewpoint, the Schindlers came across as not believable witnesses; they seemed to be afflicted with fanatical beliefs. Fanatical people are known to massage the facts to further their cause.
