I was born in Montreal. Lovely city. What's really a marvel is that Canada remains united at all. The French and the English may hate each others' guts but deep down they know the Confederation made them mutually prosperous. There's something to be said for a marriage of commercial convenience.

HUH? Almost all trade is north/south not east/west therefore the economic reason for confederation dont exist anymore. In security issues, america protects canada so nothing there.
